Born in Raleigh, NC. Lived in NC all my life. I graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Social Work. I’ve been married to my best friend, and soul mate, Chris for 16 years. We have 4 great kids, Cole, Noah, Sara and Jake. I have one sister 7 yrs younger & have been blessed with 2 wonderful parents.

The Bible, The Notebook, Little House on the Prairie and Jane Austin books.

In My Spare Time:

read, scrapbook, go to the beach, go on dates with my husband, have ‘family fun nights’.

Diet Dr. Pepper, candy (currently twizzlers, red hots, and peanut m&ms), love when music syncs with my mood, a long nap, sitting on the porch of my parents condo @ the beach,

I am the Volunteer Coordinator @ RLF. I also serve as a part of the Family Ministry Team, helping with “parent-check-in” on Sunday mornings.

A Bit About Me:

I’m a North Carolina native who moved all over the state thanks to my dads job.
I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received my degree in Secondary Education.
I taught high school Social Studies for eight years before I became a full time homemaker / mommy.
I’m married to an awesome guy named John and have two wonderful kids (ages 7 and 2).

Favorite Books:

The Bible, The Great Gatsby, The Scarlett Letter, Wuethering Heights, and other 11th grade English class American Classics. Now I read lots of kids books, many of the same ones hundreds of times

Simple Pleasures:

A nap (sleep is good!), chocolate chip cookies, a fun family night at home with my peeps,
and a movie / ice cream night with my girlfriends.

I’d Love To Visit:

Dont like planes . . . Do they sell tranquilizer guns for use by the flight averse? If they do,
then maybe Paris, London, Sydney, and Jerusalem. The tropics are nice too but not during hurricane season.

What I Typically Do Around Radiant Life Fellowship:

I’m the Family Minister @ Radiant Life.
I work with the childrens leaders to make your child’s time here at Radiant Life the best part of their week. The Grove rocks and our kids love it! I also work with the youth leaders to help our students experience God in a personal way. My main job is to equip and encourage parents as they guide their children towards God. When a child / student hears the same thing from parents and their Life Group leaders, at church, it has a big impact on that child / student. I’m into big impacts!

Most People Would Be Surprised That I met my wonderful husband in high school…in Physics class. I was in the 11th grade. He likes to say we had Chemistry in Physics. Ha, Ha! That’s one of the many reasons I love him so!

In My Spare Time:

I like reading, spending time on my front porch, having quality time with good company, putting my artistic skills to use by painting/sewing/jewelry-making, hanging out at coffee shops

Simple Pleasures:

Having a great cup of coffee at the exact moment of need, dogs of all kinds, fountain diet cokes, a weekend trip to the mountains, wearing pajamas after a long day, when the shuffle on my ipod is in sync with my mood, the smells of laundry and soap

I’d Love To Visit:

Everywhere!!  I have a deep desire to travel to all places!!  I want to see and touch as much of creation as I can and hang out with all these beautiful unique people God created!!! I specifically want to travel all over Europe, take an RV all over the States, and be immersed in a culture that will allow me to work on my Spanish speaking skills

I’m an Intern @ RLF, which means that I’m like a sponge soaking up the wisdom of others.  I spend my time hanging out with our youth and doing odd jobs. My most important job, however, is to be Christine’s sidekick in keeping people upbeat and laughing!!!

Most People Would Be Surprised That…  I am a coffee shop barista but dont know how to make coffee at home, Little House on the Prairie is one of my favorite shows, I love doing laundry, and I still get my Dad to kill the scary bugs I find around the house!

A Bit About Me:

I have been married to my beautiful, talented, extremely smart wife Katy for 15 years.  I definitely “out-punted my coverage.”  We met in college at Virginia Tech (GO HOKIES!!!).  We have two children – Emily (6) and Ike (2) and two dogs (Scooter and Lucy). I met Chris at a church planter’s training program and hope to plant a church in rural Appalachia at some point in the future.

In My Spare Time:

What’s spare time??  Between being a husband, dad, church planting intern, and working at an information technology company, my hours are pretty full.  When I do have spare time, I enjoy watching Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters or tinkering with my many computers  (Macs are AWESOME!) and other technology toys.

As the Guest Services/Host Team Coordinator @ RLF, I provide vision and direction to the  ”front door” process &  to our “systems”  and their development.  I like to get my hands dirty with anything and everything going on so that I can learn more about church planting.

Most People Would Be Surprised That…I have an alter ego named “Miguel Grande”. This is my name on all mission trips that I have been on ever since my first one to Honduras several years ago.  It was in Honduras that I earned my reputation as a fierce competitor in “Pato, Pato, Gonso” (Duck, Duck, Goose).

A Bit About Me:

Born and raised right here in Charlotte, NC! One of the last few natives it seems like now a days with so many new faces moving into the state. This is home to me and my family, and I assume it will be for a long time to come. I’m the oldest of the three boys in my family, my brothers are a very important part of my life. I’ve been very blessed be part of a loving family, make long lasting friendships, and God has blessed me with talents that have opened up opportunities not only for me to make a living doing what I’m passionate about, but also allowing me to serve others at the same time. In Dec 2006, God brought a beautiful girl into my life, whose name is Brittany, and she is now the most beautiful and talented fiancé in the world! I asked Brittany to marry me at the Biltmore House, in Asheville, NC, Dec 6th, 2009, and Glory to God, “SHE SAID YES”! Brittany, is one of the most important parts of my life, and she serves along side of me doing ministry at RLF. I thank God everyday for the blessings in my life, and for the Journey he’s given to me to make it to where I’m am. Growing up, I didn’t have much when it comes to the “finest of things”, but the things I did have, money simply couldn’t buy! Life wasn’t always easy, but I can say confidently, I’m a better and stronger man, because of it all. I owe a lot to my parents, my Grandparents, and mentors along the way for investing in me, and believing in me. A few things that not many people would know about me include: I’m a country boy at heart, I’ve a devoted NBA fan and I play basketball with a passion, I love to Cook, keeping a clean home consumes my day everyday, I consider moving to a tropical island and living on the beach a few times a day, I’m addicted to reality TV.

In My Spare Time:

I thrift shop. I do something geeky like play on my laptop, or play with my guitar pedals. I watch reality TV. Text. Clean. SLEEP!

Simple Pleasures:

Date Night’s with Britt. Rainbows. Sunday Naps. Long Drives on a Summer day. Playing the Guitar or Piano. Dr.Pepper. Walmart and Ikea.

I’d Love To Visit:

I’ve been very blessed to travel to some pretty amazing places already including: Aruba, Cancun, Italy (Rome and Florence), Nicaragua, and many places throughout the US. But there’s still SO many places I would love to Visit. Some of those include: Australia, Hawaii, London, Japan, New Zealand, Mt Everest, Kodak-Alaska. All of which are on my list, and I strongly believe one day, God-willing, they’ll all be checked off.

What I Typically Do Around Radiant Life Fellowship:

I’m the Director of Music and Creative Arts at Radiant Life. So in a nutshell I plan and lead all the music for our sunday morning experience, and I also lead the charge on all the creative elements that make the sunday morning experience awesome. Some more detailed answers would be

1. Organizing a band, communicating to them, investing in them, providing resoucres to them to prepare for Sunday Mornings.
2. Planning music for our services by researching the net, or seeing what other churches are doing, or by finding matieral that corresponds with the message topic.
3. Creating Video content to go with the music, sermons, or promotional events we’re doing at RLF.
4. Leading a Team of volunteers, including our Audio/Video Team, Worship Team (Musicians & Vocalists).
5. Thinking through additional creative elements including Lighting, Website, Drama/Dance Teams, Leadership Development, Environments.

Those are my Big Rocks. Not all that I do, but plenty enough to keep me occupied! But I wouldn’t change any of it for the world. I LOVE MY JOB, aka “My Calling!”
