An excerpt from Mark Batterson’s book Chasing Lions might give you a glimpse of the kind of attitude we have at Radiant Life Fellowship.
“Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-ordained passions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Stop criticizing and start creating. stop playing it safe and start taking risks. Expand your horizons. Accumulate experiences. Consider the lilacs. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. Don’t let what’s wrong with you keep you from worshipping what’s right with God. Burn sinful bridges. Laugh at yourself. Keep making mistakes. Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks. Don’t try to be who you’re not. Be yourself quit holding out. Quit holding back. Quit running away. And remember: if God is for us, who can be against us?”
The Birth of RLF
After serving as a youth pastor for 15 years (in the local church), Chris Thompson, his wife Jenny, and their 4 kids, followed God’s call to plant a church in Huntersville. As a result of their faith, in April of 2008, Radiant Life Fellowship was born. Over the next year and a half, a core group of leaders consistently began meeting in homes: praying, planning, serving and preparing to launch Radiant Life Fellowship publically in the Huntersville area.
Since the initial first gathering, God has blessed RLF with many incredibly talented and creative leaders, willing to give their “ALL” for the calling upon their lives. Ultimately, what began as a BIG dream within the hearts of 7 families, from the Huntersville area, became a BIG reality on Sunday, September 20th 2009, when Radiant Life Fellowship celebrated it’s first Sunday morning experience, at Blythe Elementary, with 108 people in attendance!
What to Expect:
RLF is a community of seekers, doubters, and followers where LOVE WINS. In a nut-shell, that’s what we are about: living a life where “Love Always Wins“. In fact, for us it’s boiled down to “Love God. Love People. Love Wins. Prove it.” We invite you to come check out Radiant Life Fellowship anyway you want to come.
